Portable Electrocoagulation - Waterzapper
Patent 62220752, entitled A PORTABLE ELECTROAGULATOR APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE refers to a novel electrocoagulation technology developed by Davis George Moye and Jason Southerland, water biologist. Also known as, "Waterzapper," this electrocoagulator is unique in that it scales tried and true, reliable electrocoagulation technology to a scale that is appropriate for domestic kitchen use. Waterzapper works by running a direct current through contaminated water, which in turn coagulates flocculant. Afterward, it used electrolysis to ozonate the water. A simple coffee filter strains the flocculant after treatment. After several minutes of treatment badly contaminated water meets the Food and Drug Administration's bottled water standards for human consumption. Waterzapper uses less than 25% as much energy as comparable reverse osmosis technologies.
