Davis George Moye
Davis George Moye has a decade's professional experience in electrical engineering, project management, and earth sciences. This began with service aboard the USCGC POLAR SEA, icebreaking for the National Science Foundation at McMurdo Station, Antarctica. Subsequently, he served as the electrical officer aboard ballistic missile defense ship, USS O’KANE. From the O’KANE he transferred to the Naval Oceanography Anti-Submarine Warfare Center, where he modeled sonar performance. Dr. Moye then transitioned to the Moye Law Firm, where he assessed evidence and expert witness testimony in environmental contamination, water rights, and land use cases. While at Moye Law Firm he took a 5 month break to serve on the Governor of Florida's staff, assisting in the passage of the Florida Springs Protection Act and major revisions to the state's brownfield laws.

In 2015 Dr. Moye took a position as project manager and corporate counsel at General Capacitor, a cutting-edge energy storage company developing lithium-ion capacitor technology, the link between the lithium battery and the supercapacitor. At General Capacitor he managed over $4 million in research and development projects as a subcontractor for the US Army Communications-Electronics Research, Development, and Engineering Center (CERDEC), the Army Research Laboratory (ARL), the Office of Naval Research (ONR), Florida State University (FSU), Space Florida, and various private companies. All of these projects involved improving the energy density or operating temperature range of lithium-ion capacitors or related energy storage devices. Applications included satellites, mobile communications, automotive batteries, and power grids. Dr. Moye was eventually promoted to General Manager at General Capacitor, which he left in 2019 to focus upon Moye Consultants full time.

Dr. Moye is a lieutenant commander in the US Navy Reserve, where he serves as Officer in Charge of the Naval Meteorology Reserve Detachment in Jacksonville, Florida, supervising all reserve meteorologists and oceanographers in the Jacksonville, Florida, area.

Dr. Moye obtained his master of science, juris doctor, and doctor of philosophy degrees from the Florida State University, with research focused on photovoltaics, regulatory compliance in Florida waters, and electrochemical energy storage, respectively. He received his bachelor’s of science in oceanography from the United States Naval Academy. Dr. Moye is a certified project management professional, a licensed attorney, and a SCUBA divemaster. He has given numerous technical presentations, has written several scholarly articles, and holds 1 patent.
