Energy Storage Device Design: SiMod

Moye Consultants has developed the SiMod (Simultaneous Battery and Capacitor Design Model).  SiMod streamlines the design of batteries, supercapacitors, asymmetric capacitors, and related energy storage devices.  Developers consider many factors when designing an energy storage device for a customer.  These factors include current (and therefore power), voltage, cycle life, physical size, and materials cost.  Many new energy storage technologies can balance these factors by simultaneously using the different chemical reactions that characterize batteries and supercapacitors.  Until recently developers excessively prototyped because they did not understand how these new technologies balance electrical current and energy.  SiMod is the first model to accurately compute energy from the device’s electrical current and design, substantially reducing prototyping costs. 

 

SiMod is available for licensing, or Moye Consultants can use it design an energy storage device tailored to your needs.
